Psalm 138:3

When I called, you answered me. You made me bold by strengthening my soul.

Ephesians 6:10-13

Finally, receive your power from the Lord and from his mighty strength. Put on all the armor that God supplies. In this way you can take a stand against the devil’s strategies. This is not a wrestling match against a human opponent. We are wrestling with rulers, authorities, the powers who govern this world of darkness, and spiritual forces that control evil in the heavenly world. For this reason, take up all the armor that God supplies. Then you will be able to take a stand during these evil days. Once you have overcome all obstacles, you will be able to stand your ground.

Psalm 91

Whoever lives under the shelter of the Most High will remain in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust.”
He is the one who will rescue you from hunters’ traps and from deadly plagues.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge.
His truth is your shield and armor.
You do not need to fear terrors of the night, arrows that fly during the day, plagues that roam the dark, epidemics that strike at noon.
They will not come near you, even though a thousand may fall dead beside you or ten thousand at your right side.
You only have to look with your eyes to see the punishment of wicked people.
You, O LORD, are my refuge!
You have made the Most High your home.
No harm will come to you.
No sickness will come near your house.
He will put his angels in charge of you to protect you in all your ways.
They will carry you in their hands so that you never hit your foot against a rock.
You will step on lions and cobras.
You will trample young lions and snakes.
Because you love me, I will rescue you.
I will protect you because you know my name.
When you call to me, I will answer you.
I will be with you when you are in trouble.
I will save you and honor you.
I will satisfy you with a long life.
I will show you how I will save you.

Psalm 121

I look up toward the mountains.
Where can I find help?
My help comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let you fall.
Your guardian will not fall asleep.
Indeed, the Guardian of Israel never rests or sleeps.
The LORD is your guardian.
The LORD is the shade over your right hand.
The sun will not beat down on you during the day, nor will the moon at night.
The LORD guards you from every evil.
He guards your life.
The LORD guards you as you come and go, now and forever.

1 John 5:11-13

This is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is found in his Son.
The person who has the Son has this life. The person who doesn’t have the Son of God doesn’t have this life.
I’ve written this to those who believe in the Son of God so that they will know that they have eternal life.

We have a chief priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses. He was tempted in every way that we are, but he didn’t sin. So we can go confidently to the throne of God’s kindness a to receive mercy and find kindness, which will help us at the right time.

Psalm 23

The LORD is my shepherd.
I am never in need.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside peaceful waters.
He renews my soul.
He guides me along the paths of righteousness for the sake of his name.
Even though I walk through the dark valley of death, because you are with me, I fear no harm.
Your rod and your staff give me courage.
You prepare a banquet for me while my enemies watch.
You anoint my head with oil.
My cup overflows.
Certainly, goodness and mercy will stay close to me all the days of my life,
and I will remain in the LORD’s house for days without end.

Romans 8:28-29

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan. This is true because he already knew his people and had already appointed them to have the same form as the image of his Son. Therefore, his Son is the firstborn among many children.

James 1:2-4

My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways. You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won’t need anything.

John 14:27; 16:33

I’m leaving you peace. I’m giving you my peace. I don’t give you the kind of peace that the world gives. So don’t be troubled or cowardly.
I’ve told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you’ll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world.

Philippians 4:6-7

Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.

1 Corinthians 4:7

Who says that you are any better than other people? What do you have that wasn’t given to you? If you were given what you have, why are you bragging as if it weren’t a gift?

Philippians 2:3-8

Don’t act out of selfish ambition or be conceited. Instead, humbly think of others as being better than yourselves. Don’t be concerned only about your own interests, but also be concerned about the interests of others. Have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Although he was in the form of God and equal with God, he did not take advantage of this equality. Instead, he emptied himself by taking on the form of a servant, by becoming like other humans, by having a human appearance. He humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, death on a cross.

Psalm 55:22

Turn your burdens over to the LORD, and he will take care of you.
He will never let the righteous person stumble.

Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me, all who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Place my yoke over your shoulders, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble. Then you will find rest for yourselves because my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Galatians 6:9

We can’t allow ourselves to get tired of living the right way. Certainly, each of us will receive everlasting life at the proper time, if we don’t give up.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, keep your thoughts on whatever is right or deserves praise: things that are true, honorable, fair, pure, acceptable, or commendable.

1 John 2:15-17

Don’t love the world and what it offers. Those who love the world don’t have the Father’s love in them. Not everything that the world offers — physical gratification, greed, and extravagant lifestyles — comes from the Father. It comes from the world, and the world and its evil desires are passing away. But the person who does what God wants lives forever.

Romans 8:26-28

At the same time the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we don’t know how to pray for what we need. But the Spirit intercedes along with our groans that cannot be expressed in words. The one who searches our hearts knows what the Spirit has in mind. The Spirit intercedes for God’s people the way God wants him to. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God—those whom he has called according to his plan.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! He is the Father who is compassionate and the God who gives comfort. He comforts us whenever we suffer. That is why whenever other people suffer, we are able to comfort them by using the same comfort we have received from God. Because Christ suffered so much for us, we can receive so much comfort from him.

Matthew 5:48

That is why you must be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 22:36-40

“Teacher, which commandment is the greatest in Moses’ Teachings?”

Jesus answered him, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ All of Moses’ Teachings and the Prophets depend on these two commandments.”

Psalm 34:19

The righteous person has many troubles, but the LORD rescues him from all of them.

2 Corinthians 4:17

Our suffering is light and temporary and is producing for us an eternal glory that is greater than anything we can imagine.

1 Corinthians 10:13

There isn’t any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be
tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape.

James 1:2-4 and 12-15

My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways. You know that such testing of your faith produces endurance. Endure until your testing is over. Then you will be mature and complete, and you won’t need anything.

Blessed are those who endure when they are tested. When they pass the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. When someone is tempted, he shouldn’t say that God is tempting him. God can’t be tempted by evil, and God doesn’t tempt anyone. Everyone is tempted by his own desires as they lure him away and trap him. Then desire becomes pregnant and gives birth to sin. When sin grows up, it gives birth to death.

1 Peter 2:19-23

God is pleased if a person is aware of him while enduring the pains of unjust suffering. What credit do you deserve if you endure a beating for doing something wrong? But if you endure suffering for doing something good, God is pleased with you. God called you to endure suffering because Christ suffered for you. He left you an example so that you could follow in his footsteps. Christ never committed any sin. He never spoke deceitfully. Christ never verbally abused those who verbally abused him. When he suffered, he didn’t make any threats but left everything to the one who judges fairly.

1 Peter 4:12-15

Dear friends, don’t be surprised by the fiery troubles that are coming in order to test you. Don’t feel as though something strange is happening to you, but be happy as you share Christ’s sufferings. Then you will also be full of joy when he appears again in his glory. If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed because the Spirit of glory—the Spirit of God—is resting on you. If you suffer, you shouldn’t suffer for being a murderer, thief, criminal, or troublemaker.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

But he told me: “My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak.” So I will brag even more about my weaknesses in order that Christ’s power will live in me.

Philippians 4:13

I can do everything through Christ who strengthens me.
